Positions
Year-long volunteers at Christ House fill vital positions, such as
staff nurse, nursing assistant, case management assistant, clinical unit assistant, activities coordinator, and generalist.
Activities Coordinator - Plan and take part in cultural and educational activities with our patients: attend concerts, sporting events, plays, lectures, and simply spend time with the patients. Additional duties include supervising and helping the patients with different work projects and accompanying patients on trips to area hospitals.

Case Management Assistant - Serve as the patients' first contact with the Social Services Department: help obtain appropriate entitlements for patients, and travel with clients to social service appointments at outside agencies.

Generalist - Serve as an important extension of the Administration here at Christ House. The duties include, but are not limited to; the management of the clothing room, assisting on patient accompaniments, and working along with the Activities Coordinator on patient outings. Additionally, the role provides some room for the Generalist to use his/her own unique talents and abilities to help in the mission of Christ House.

Clinical Unit Assistant - Be the first point of contact for our patients at the nurses' station. Responsibilities include transcribing physicians' orders, scheduling medical appointments, and ordering lab tests. This position is best suited for someone with an interest in the medical field and a desire to learn about clinic administration. This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nursing Assistant - Serve as a nurse's aide: take vital signs, change dressings, and assist patients with daily activities. Interact daily with patients and provide hands-on care. Preference given to those with prior experience in providing hands-on medical care.

Staff Nurse - Become a part of our team of experienced nurses. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administration of medications, health monitoring and patient education. Both Registered Nurses and recent graduates awaiting licensure are welcome to apply.
